When Gordon Lewis, of Stratos Seating, wearied of the lack of comfort in light trucks and 4WD vehicles, he called on his engineering skills and 30 years' experience in the automotive industry. Now, his new Stratos LTSS seat is testament to Aussie ingenuity and practical thinking.

Gordon designed a unique suspension system for the LTSS (Light Truck Suspension Seat). He placed the suspension mechanism behind the back section of the seat, thus solving the problem of lack of space in the vehicle cabin area. He then designed an easily-operated adjustor to tune the suspension to the weight of the driver and the ride quality of the truck, 4WD or motorhome.

Following this came optional armrests for either or both sides of the seat. These fold up when not in use and are adjustable to suit the rake of the backrest. Gordon Lewis had now solved his problem of driver comfort and, therefore, improved driver safety.

The Stratos LTSS is available in all standard colour cloth trims, as well as vinyl for mining vehicles and other heavy duty vehicles.

Customers who have already specified the new Stratos LTSS include fleet owners, mining companies, 4WD travellers and government authorities. The NSW Ambulance Service, believing driver comfort is a priority, use the LTSS in their new Landcruiser 78 Series vehicles in outback and country regions.

The other market targeted by Stratos for the LTSS is that of light trucks and vans, such as Isuzu, Ford Transit, Hino, Mitsubishi, Iveco and Mercedes-Benz.

Competitive pricing is a feature of all Australian-made Stratos seats, and the LTSS is no exception, being available for around $1200 depending on fitment. New truck sales outlets are offering the Stratos LTSS as an option on many of their models.
